Last night Barack Obama owned the airwaves. His 30 minute infomercial airing on 7 major channels was greeted with great acclaim as an emotional and powerful argument for his candidacy. Next Obama appeared via satellite with Jon Stewart on the Daily Show and exhibited a great sense of humor. Then I saw Obama campaigning live in Florida with President Bill Clinton. What a night ! I can’t imagine a better use of campaign funds or a better coordinated evening in my political memory. We should all enjoy it while we can. There is a lot of very serious work ahead of us.

More charges of ethics violations swirl around Sarah Palin. This time she is being investigated in regard to the use of Alaskan taxpayer dollars for travel expenses for her children. New revelations indicate she may have also bilked the good people of Alaska for a $50 million renovation on her Governor’s Mansion. Is that mavericky or what? You betcha it is.

As rumors abound that Palin is positioning herself for 2012 Ms. Katz’ book should provide a valuable glimpse into Palin’s history.

HULK VERY ANGRY
Senator Ted Stevens was found guilty on all 7 counts in his Alaskan corruption trial this week.
The aged and angry Senator vows to continue his campaign to retain his senate seat against Democratic challenger Mark Begich. Fellow aged and angry Senator John McCain has called for Stevens to resign. Close friend and confidant Gov. Sarah Palin has echoed that call today.
There was some confusion as to the process should Sen Stevens resign that Ms Palin would appoint his successor. Herself maybe ? Apparently Alaska did away with the appointment procedure in reaction to the last corrupt Governor Frank Murkowski. Stevens seat, should he retain it and resign, would be filled by special election. Let’s hope Mark Begich holds on to his lead and wins this thing outright next Tuesday.
