Mr. Farias,

The next time you interview Eric Shine let me provide you with some questions. I would also suggest you ask him to bring along whatever document originating from the Federal Government that says he holds valid commission at a Lieutenant in any service.

The is the response to an e-mail I fired off to the Navy Inspector General on Eric's status.

This is in response to your e-mail to the Naval Inspector General's Office. Our records do not indicate a service member by the name mentioned in your complaint.

Title 18, United States Code, Section 702 prohibits the unauthorized wearing of the uniform of the Armed Forces. Section 704 prohibits the unauthorized wearing, manufacturing, or selling of military awards. As a practical matter, assuming he is not wearing a rank or decoration he did not earn, prosecution, although technically possible, is not likely. We hope you find this information helpful.
Sincerely,
NAVIG Hotlines

We have written entire articles dozens of times on his many claims.

The link above provides links directly U.S. Code on some of his assertions. The bottom line is that the waters of America are safer without Mr. Shine navigating them.

So glad to know you're back. I say "know" because that's all I can get. I am a dial-up user and even your podcasts are not really audible because they have been recorded with wideband audio (high bit rate). I'm a technologist and well aware of the reason this is. It sure would be nice if you guys could do a low bandwidth audio channel. I'm the sort of guy who uses computers for work and not TV viewing . I don't go in for premium cable TV channels and have always thought of high speed internet service as being wasteful unless it's truly required save lives. 'Hope you guys don't think everyone's so rich that they can afford to pay big bucks for a high speed connection that can be used at only one physical address. Do you know that 1 Dial up account can be used on more 10 computers, simultaneously in several locations anywhere Qwest is as long as each is on a phone line? You can't do that with COX. Like AM radio, 10 or 12 KHz audio bandwidth is fine for a talk show. Why not let the WWW have that extra bandwidth for the lifesaving medical users? Afterall, phone calls only need 3.5 to 4 KHz audio bandwidth. Joe.
